Great news — your travel insurance is fully arranged by SK-II and covers medical emergencies, trip cancellations and lost baggage for the entire conference period (8–12 June 2026).

Many apps are restricted in mainland China (Google, WhatsApp, Instagram). Download a VPN before departure. Hotel Wi-Fi is provided.
Chinese Yuan (CNY/RMB) is the local currency. WeChat Pay and Alipay are widely used. Notify your bank before travel to avoid card blocks. Most hotels accept major credit cards.
Average temperature 22–28°C. June is the start of plum rain season — occasional showers expected. Pack light layers and a compact umbrella.
Rooms are pre-assigned. Your room key will be ready at check-in. Room type: Superior / Deluxe King or Twin, based on availability.

Your essential numbers and general information
Hotel Wi-Fi is complimentary for all guests. Connection details will be in your room welcome pack. Many international apps and websites are blocked in China — set up a VPN before you arrive. Recommended VPNs: ExpressVPN, NordVPN, Surfshark (purchase and install in your home country).
Local currency is Chinese Yuan (CNY / RMB). 1 USD ≈ 7.2 CNY. WeChat Pay and Alipay are dominant payment methods — credit cards may not be accepted at local markets. The hotel accepts Visa, Mastercard, and Amex. Exchange currency at the airport or hotel front desk. ATMs are available in the hotel lobby.
Mandarin Chinese is the official language. English is spoken at the hotel and major tourist areas. Download Google Translate or Pleco offline for local interactions. Show your hotel business card (available at reception) to taxi drivers for easy navigation.
Shanghai has excellent medical facilities. The hotel concierge can arrange a doctor visit if needed. Tap water is not safe to drink — use bottled water (provided in your room). Food safety is generally good at hotel and recommended restaurants. If you have severe allergies, inform the event coordinator in advance.
Shanghai has an excellent metro system. DiDi (China's Uber) is easy to use with a foreign card. The hotel is centrally located — many attractions are walkable. All conference activities have transportation arranged. For personal exploration, ask the concierge for recommendations and always keep your hotel business card.
The hotel is non-smoking in all indoor areas. Designated smoking areas are outside the lobby. Pets are not permitted. Visitors must be registered at the front desk. Noise curfew applies after 23:00. The hotel reserves the right to charge for any damages to the room.
Photography is encouraged at most conference activities for personal use. During the Brand Workshop and proprietary sessions, photography may be restricted — please follow facilitator instructions. For social media sharing, use our conference hashtag and be mindful of colleagues who may prefer not to be photographed.
